The design comes from the family member and renowned architect Esben Klint and is popular then as now. The illuminant is enclosed by the shade, so that glare is prevented. The shade, carefully folded by hand from paper, is still the emblem of Le Klint's trademark.Even today, the lampshades by Le Klint are produced by hand in Odense on the island of Funen in Denmark. So far, it has not been possible to have the complicated folding technique carried out by machines. The company, which was founded in Copenhagen in 1943, attaches particular importance to the tradition of craftsmanship, paired with modern production technology. The lighting creations by Le Klint have been developed in collaboration with architects and designers throughout the 20th century and are constantly adapted to the advancing technology, so that today Le Klint is a modern production company that at the same time preserves a strong tradition of craftsmanship.
