History & Milestones

AXO LIGHT was founded near Venice, in an area where Central European and Mediterranean influences mix and creatively complement each other. Since its foundation in 1996, the company has always focused on the tradition of craftsmanship. At the same time, new ideas were inspired by trends from all over Europe. Thanks to an internationally oriented philosophy, national borders play no role in the search for new concepts and design ideas, which allows a flexible approach to a wide variety of impulses. Thanks to its strong international orientation, AXO LIGHT is now present with its products in over 90 countries worldwide and has two foreign branches - in the USA and Asia.

AXO LIGHT's success is characterized by its collaboration with a wide variety of designers such as Dima Loginoff, Karim Rashid, Ryosuke Fukusada, Sandro Santantonio, Timo Ripatti, Brian Rasmussen, Manuel Vivian, Serge and Robert Cornelissen and Rainer Mutsch. All of these designers contribute their wealth of experience - for example in dealing with materials such as glass, crystal glass, fabric, ceramic, metal, aluminum and ABS plastic. The Venetian tradition of glassblowing has played a major role in the creation of appealing lamps from the very beginning.

AXO LIGHT - Series and classics

The AXO LIGHT range includes individual luminaire models as well as many series, including the characteristic aluminum arches by Timo Ripatti called U-Light or the Fairy luminaire series by Manuel Vivian. Browse through our selection and be inspired.

U-Light luminaire series

The characteristic aluminum arches called U-Light by designer Timo Ripatti literally close the circle. The first version dates back to 2016 and comprises three pendant lights, each of which combines two curved elements: an upside-down U and a ring attached underneath that contains the light source. U-Light is available as a pendant light, wall light and ceiling light. In all models, the light is generated by a dimmable LED light source built into the ring, which provides a very soft, white light. Both as a single luminaire and in combination, U-Light has a particularly expressive and effective visual impact. The new version of the U-Light, which dispenses with the upside-down U, was launched back in 2017. The luminaire now comprises a single, round element.

Fairy luminaire series

The Fairy luminaire by designer Manuel Vivian looks like a fairytale shower of lights. It is available as a pendant, wall and ceiling light and as a recessed spotlight. The body of the luminaire is made of chrome-plated or matt anthracite gray or bronze-colored lacquered metal, the shade is made of crystal - available in transparent, amber or smoky gray. Even when switched off, the lampshades create a sparkling play of light when the light falls on them. Depending on individual preference, the lights can be mounted individually or combined in a circular or linear arrangement. The arrangement of several shades creates veritable cascades of light reflections reminiscent of a kaleidoscope of colors. A dreamy atmosphere is guaranteed. The circular arrangement is also possible with a set of two rings of different sizes - ideal for large, far-reaching compositions.

Melting Pot luminaire series

AXO LIGHT associates its Melting Pot luminaire series by designer Sandro Santantonio with a contemporary Tower of Babel. Melting Pot is available as a pendant, floor or wall light. Depending on the design, several lampshades can be combined in one arrangement, bringing different shapes and patterns together harmoniously. This results in expressive, characteristic constructions in which contrasting styles are harmonized. The patterns on the outside of the shade range from restrained optical stripes and squares to graceful, stylized floral patterns. Both versions are available in a light and dark version.

Even as a luminaire with a single shade - for example as a floor lamp - Melting Pot combines different patterns, each of which extends over half the shade and contrasts with the silver or gold interior. If light shades with a light pattern are selected, white insides are also available.

Of course, the luminaire lives up to its name Melting Pot in the version in which several lampshades merge. In this case, the individual screens are held together with elastic clips. The shades themselves are made of iron rods with a self-extinguishing PVC coating - the whole thing is covered with printed fabric.

Mountain View - a true work of art

The Mountain View luminaire by designer Dima Loginoff is not just a luminaire, but a work of art. Obviously inspired by nature, the inside of the luminaire depicts a mountain range. Mountain View is made from a single piece of blown glass. The shade seamlessly combines the outer shell in the shape of a bell with the inner part in the shape of a mountain. To the observer, the mountain looks different from every side. This has its appeal from an aesthetic point of view, but also in terms of lighting technology. This is because the striking curves of the mountain split the light, but do not detract from the pleasant and harmonious all-round distribution. So if you are looking for a particularly expressive luminaire that integrates perfectly into an extravagant ambience, Mountain View is the perfect choice. The LED light is available in transparent glass with a chrome-plated or gold-plated frame as well as with an amber-colored mountain solid.

Spillray luminaire series

With his Spillray luminaire series, designer Manuel Vivian has created an extremely charming play of light. The combination of inverted glass goblets, positioned in bunches or in rows, and their arrangement at different heights creates a play of contrasting colors. Depending on your personal preference, Spillray can range from elegant to witty and bring movement into any room in a harmonious way. The light is distributed evenly throughout the room. Spillray is available in numerous compositions - as a pendant light and chandelier as well as a ceiling or wall light. Depending on the design, the glass goblet can be placed the right way round or with the opening facing downwards and is equally effective on its own or in a creative combination.
