In 1947, Karl Bankamp founded the company BANKAMP - in Neheim-Hüsten, Germany. The parent plant is still located where the foundation stone was once laid. And a modern façade does not mean that things are not very traditional behind it. Every BANKAMP luminaire is created by hand. **Made in Germany - a seal of quality that lives up to its name at BANKAMP.
It is contemporary and at the same time follows all the guidelines of modern design: the Luno LED ceiling light provides six squares of light on a rectangular ceiling panel made of anodized aluminium - for uniform general lighting. Also included: the B-Link radio remote control.

B-Link is an intuitive radio remote control. It is battery-operated and can be used as a mobile device or mounted on the wall. It is used like a classic dimmer: press = on/off, turn = dimming - without any wiring.
The remote control is included with compatible Bankamp luminaires and can control up to nine additional B-Link luminaires.

This is thanks to Karl Bankamp, who founded the company of the same name in 1947. In Neheim-Hüsten in the Sauerland region. End of the 19. At the end of the 19th century, this was the center of the German lighting industry, known as the "lighting city". BANKAMP was (and is) not the only lighting company based here. But one of the most successful - to date.
The ** parent plant** is still located in Neheim-Hüsten today. "Hidden" behind a modern façade, around 80 employees saw, bend, solder, polish, degrease and paint. About 70 of them are craftsmen. They all work on lights, starting with a blank made of pure brass, with hand-blown and hand-molded glass specially made for BANKAMP and with technical components - all made in Germany.
Dreamlike living room lights are created here. Those that combine traditional craftsmanship with all the technology that makes the world of lighting so modern today: LED light, touch dimmer, gesture control, smart home And the best thing is: because the BANKAMP Group also includes a subsidiary based in Germany, which produces all the control electronics as well as a large number of the LED boards, every BANKAMP luminaire is also on the inside: made in Germany.
The equipment used to make them: somehow traditional. They tell of times gone by. Some of the long-standing employees could probably also tell you about them. But they are all committed to modernity. And they bring their craftsmanship with them. And they are all kinds.

The designers at BANKAMP, on the other hand, are the ones who often come up with the really bold ideas. It's a good thing that their ideas are tackled by skilled craftsmen, so that even complex concepts can be implemented. Or a special request from a customer that affects more than just a different color scheme.

Sustainability: a key focus of BANKAMP
A BANKAMP luminaire is a high-quality furnishing object, equipped with highly efficient, energy-saving LEDs, which defies any "throw-away mentality". Behind this is a modern company that is committed to sustainability.
The avoidance of emission-polluting global transportation is already a first step towards a better eco-balance: awarded the "Made in Germany" label by TÜV, over 80% of all components, including electronic parts and LED boards, come from Germany, often from the immediate region. In addition, only renewable energies are used for production. The company is heated by an incineration plant for wood chips from the Sauerland sawmills.
The aim is to achieve RESY and FSC logos for all product packaging, and the inner packaging can also be fully recycled. As an additional service, BANKAMP also offers repairs to the lights even after several years, for which the company keeps stocks of all the components and glass used.
