There is no second chance to make a first impression - a saying that is particularly true in the hotel and hospitality industry. In addition to a friendly appearance, the furnishings and hotel lighting also contribute to a first impression in a hotel. When guests arrive in the evening, the hotel lighting is the feature of a hotel that catches their eye the most - both the exterior and interior lighting of the hotel.
The entrance hall of a hotel welcomes guests with its cozy and stylish ambience. Ideally, the foyer should be divided into active and quiet zones with the help of suitable hotel luminaires. Warm and dimmed light in the waiting area, bright, friendly light at reception. The hotel lighting, which is intended to provide indirect, general light, can be realized with pendant luminaires, ceiling luminaires, wall luminaires or downlights. More direct light is needed in hotel lighting wherever work is carried out, e.g. at reception.
The rooms are the heart of a hotel, as they are not only used for sleeping, but often also for working and relaxing. All these uses must be taken into account with the hotel lighting. Hotel luminaires such as ceiling luminaires or pendant luminaires also provide general lighting here. A table lamp should be placed next to the bed to provide enough light for reading in bed. In the desk area, the hotel lighting must be geared towards working on the laptop, i.e. preferably a desk lamp that is bright enough but does not cause glare on the screen.
As in every private household, hotels also need to save energy when it comes to lighting. Even more than residential lighting in private homes, hotel luminaires are in operation almost permanently day and night. Energy-saving light sources are therefore very important in the rooms and corridors. Hotel lighting should combine design, ambience, functionality and energy efficiency.
