The lighting in the hallway is an orientation light, but its design can be precisely matched to the individual furnishing style thanks to the large selection. If the hallway is adjacent to a staircase or has steps, the lighting also provides additional safety. The lighting in the hallway also determines the first impression that the home makes. The optimum light source for corridor lighting is a ceiling light, as this does not make the often narrow corridor any smaller. If the hallway is spacious and has appropriate wall connections, wall luminaires can be used as an alternative.
Ceiling lights for the hallway with motion detectors switch the light on automatically as soon as you enter the hallway. This reduces the risk of accidents, as you never forget to switch on the lights. A motion detector also increases convenience.
While outdoor wall lights, for example, have a detection area determined by a detection angle, the sensor of a round or angular corridor ceiling light often works 360° all around. This means that the detection distance is specified as the diameter - with the luminaire as the center point. The product details allow the product to be optimally adapted to the hallway.
Regular ceiling lamps for the hallway can sometimes be insufficient to illuminate special hallway shapes. However, there are efficient and simple solutions for achieving full-surface brightness in narrow, elongated and even angled corridors.
The advantages of LED ceiling lamps are also impressive in the hallway, particularly the high energy savings of up to 90% compared to conventional lighting technologies and the high switching stability. In transit areas such as corridors, the frequent switching on and off of LEDs has hardly any effect on their service life.
There is a further advantage when the light is coupled with a motion detector: the LED light immediately reaches 100 % brightness. It therefore does not require a start-up time to reach maximum brightness, as was the case with energy-saving lamps.
