Ceiling washlights are simply different from the others. Strictly speaking, different from the other floor lamps. This is because they shine upwards onto the ceiling, creating a cozy atmosphere in the room through indirect light. You can use the flexible special unit of the free-standing luminaires as you wish: To illuminate an entire room or to accentuate individual zones of a larger room.
Are you worried about replacing the light bulbs? That's not even necessary. Because in the vast majority of cases, modern ceiling washlights nowadays have fixed LED technology. This means you don't have to worry about anything. And don't be afraid that the light will stop working prematurely. Because: If you switch it on for 4 hours a day, it will last up to 30 years or more.
However, there are also ceiling washlights where you still need to replace the bulbs. This is also easy to manage. Just check which base you need - for example E14 or E27. You usually need one or two lamps for the top and one for the bottom - for the reading lamp.
You're sitting on your chilled leather couch, a book in your hand. Next to you is your uplighter. The shade provides a pleasant basic brightness - comfortably dimmed. But that's not quite enough to read. You switch on the reading lamp. And bend yourself so that your book is perfectly illuminated. So you can browse comfortably. That's why the reading lamp on the uplighter is so practical and should never be missing.
Do you want your ceiling washlight to help you be as flexible as possible? Then it should be dimmable. This is the case with most models. If you want to be on the safe side, you should pay close attention to this when buying. Simply filter for "Dimmer" in the store. And you can often dim not only the uplighter itself, but also the practical, small reading lamp.
The way in which you can reduce the light intensity varies from model to model. The aim is the same: to turn the lights up to your heart's content and then turn them down to a more comfortable level. You can do this with:
It has to be said quite clearly: halogen lamps cannot compete with LEDs. Because LED technology has a number of advantages:
Controlling the light with a remote control is nothing out of the ordinary these days. So here's the good news: ceiling washlights are also available with remote control. However, they are still in the minority. But in terms of light color change and Mulicolour function strongly on the rise.
