Which bulbs are effective in industrial wall lights?

Despite their cool metal housing and intentional nooks and crannies, industrial wall sconces are made to create homely, cosy light.

That's why we recommend:

  • a warm white light colour of less than 3,300 Kelvin for living rooms

  • a colour rendering index of at least Ra 80 to reproduce rich, clean colours

  • LED bulbs to create energy efficiency, cost savings and switching stability

As for the design of the LED bulb, that’s down to your personal preferences and the desired outcome you’re looking to create.

Filament bulbs create a nostalgic look. Matt or head mirror bulbs throw out indirect light. For those who prefer dimmable, colour-changing light, there are smart bulbs available that can be smartphone or voice-controlled.

How do you fit industrial wall lights?

Industrial wall lights are real eye-catchers due to their unconventional look. As a wall light, they should be placed at eye level, at a mounting height of around 5 cm above eye level. As a rule, this results in a mounting height of 1.70 m to 1.80 m from the ground.

It’s essential to avoid glare. Industrial-style wall lights should therefore be positioned with a downward tilt to prevent people from looking directly into the light.

During installation, the instructions in the user manual and the safety instructions must be observed. We recommend that the installation is carried out professionally by an electrician.

Are there industrial wall lights with switches and cables?

Many plug-in wall lights have a switch directly on the housing. Wall lights with plugs are easy to install too. With these, only a socket and mounting on the wall is needed.
