A beautiful house façade does not need to be hidden. On the contrary. If you stage your outdoor area directly around the house with recessed spotlights, you kill many birds with one stone: more light means more comfort. Nicely lit, the entrance area with full shopping bags or the terrace with a tray are much more pleasant to enter. So more light also means more safety. So you can stay on the paths around the house even in the dark and never miss a step. It is also safer in terms of potential burglars, who tend to look for dark corners for entry. And finally, light is simply beautiful and creates atmosphere. With recessed spotlights, you can set great lighting accents around the house that will sweeten many a dark evening.
First of all, you need a ceiling outlet and a cavity behind it. Suspended ceilings offer this. A hole is drilled into it - of course with precise consideration of the luminaire diameter and installation depth. In the next step, the connection is made and finally the light is pressed into the hole.
What is not easy to do indoors without previous knowledge of the trade is even more difficult outdoors. This is because an appropriate degree of protection must still be observed. After all, the recessed spotlights are exposed to moisture and wetness outside - more or less depending on the location. The salt content of the air near the coast must also be taken into account. We therefore strongly advise you to put your lighting project in the hands of an experienced electrician. Then you can really be sure that everything has been installed professionally.
Thanks to the use of LED technology, recessed ceiling spotlights are becoming ever more compact and also flatter. It is of course essential to always observe the specified distances in the installation instructions. This is of course included with every product. To check the dimensions before you buy, take a look at our product details. These provide information on length, width and installation depth. And when the time comes, it's best to call in your trusted electrician for the installation. If you have any questions, you can also contact our specialist advisory service. You will find the contact details below.
It depends on where exactly the luminaire is installed. Well protected or on the weather side - that can make all the difference. For recessed ceiling spotlights for outdoor use, a protection rating of at least IP23\ is recommended. However, you are better off with IP44 or higher. You can find out which protection class your favorite model has in the product details in the store.

The trend is moving away from halogen lamps towards modern LED technology - and recessed spotlights for outdoor use are no different. In a nutshell, the advantages offered by LEDs are quite simply convincing:
Tip: Do you want to switch to LED? Then simply replace your old halogen lamps - usually GU10 lamps - with new LED GU10 lamps. If you have any questions, please contact our specialist advisors using the contact details below.
Of course, recessed ceiling lights can be mounted perfectly in the roof overhang. This means that the house, patio and entrance area can be perfectly illuminated from above. Tip: It is best to use a professional for the installation. They will certainly be best able to implement the specified distances from the installation instructions so that everything fits one hundred percent in the end.
Do you want the light to come on when visitors approach, when you come home or when you step onto the patio? That makes sense. This means that you cannot avoid using a motion detector. The good news: with most recessed ceiling spotlights, operation via a motion detector is not a problem. Do you have any further questions? If so, please contact our specialist advisory service on the telephone number below.
Unfortunately, this makes less sense as the sun does not shine under the ceiling. After all, solar lights need to be able to soak up enough sun. The place where they are placed is therefore crucial. With in-ground luminaires - preferably on the sunny south side of the property - it's a different story. Solar is definitely an issue there.
You can use the "Material" filter in the store to see the materials in which recessed spotlights for outdoor use are available. You can choose from aluminum, stainless steel, glass, plastic and other metals. The materials are of course all suitable for outdoor use. Now it depends on your taste and personal preferences.
We'll tell you briefly and concisely - quite simply: there are square and round models. The choice is yours. Just take a look at the product images and you'll have an overview.
Depending on the luminaire version, there are versions with and without transformer or LED driver. You can find out exactly how in the item description. If you have any queries, you are of course welcome to call our technical advice service. The contact details are below.
Directing the light in one direction or the other as required - that would be very practical. For this you simply need a swivel recessed spotlight. They are also available for outdoor use.
Imagine sitting on the terrace in the evening and enjoying the cozy light from above? So that it's just light enough to enjoy your drink and a good conversation. This wish should come true: Depending on the light source or luminaire, the brightness can be reduced with the appropriate dimmer.
Why buy just one when there is also a set? This question is justified. Because a recessed spotlight rarely comes alone. And that's why, in addition to individual lights, we also offer practical sets in our store - sets of ten, for example.
