In order to be used outdoors, outdoor floor lamps require a higher IP protection rating than indoor luminaires.
Outdoor floor lamps with IP44 are protected against rain. Heavy rain already requires IP65. If the luminaire could be temporarily submerged in water, at least IP67 is required.
Lampenwelt recommends taking the outdoor floor lamp inside in bad weather. Most models are easy to dismantle and can be stored compactly.
