For a long time, recessed lighting with conventional fluorescent lamps was irreplaceable for commercial premises. The LED panel, however, provides optimum lighting conditions for the demanding office spaces, has an overall more aesthetic light image and also helps companies to save energy and therefore costs. This makes lighting with LED panels not only an economically interesting option, but also ensures a positive reputation - also by using the latest lighting technology for the good of our environment. LEDs perform particularly well compared to the fluorescent lamps used in other recessed luminaires. Their energy efficiency is unsurpassed. By switching to LED panels, it is possible to save up to 50 % energy. Lower CO2 emissions and reduced waste production due to the longer service life of LED products are additional benefits.
Office spaces define the required lighting based on the visual tasks that need to be performed in the respective space. Working with architectural plans, for example, is harder on the eyes than copying. As a rule, however, different visual tasks are performed within an office so that the lighting must be adapted to different requirements. To ensure that employees can work for a long time without eye damage or particularly severe signs of fatigue due to incorrect lighting, lighting conditions in the office have been regulated by the state. Illuminance in the office as well as glare and reflection avoidance, shadow reduction and uniform lighting quality are standardized by DIN EN 12464-1. Typical office lighting consists of general lighting on the one hand and task lighting relevant to the individual workstation on the other. While the latter is fulfilled by desk lamps and floor lamps, the LED panel or several recessed luminaires of this type can provide general lighting. What is important here is uniform distribution and observing the basic brightness required for the room. Basically, it can be said that LED panels are suitable for any office as long as you have the option of installing this integrative lighting method in the office ceiling. As an alternative to using the products as insert panels for modular ceilings and grid ceilings, many of the products can also be used as pendant luminaires - with all the advantages of these products.
The lampshade of an LED panel is a cover lens, often opal white and made of plastic. This special lampshade is called the diffuser. This fulfills a necessary condition for the office area: It ensures that the light sources are concealed, but in such a way that light transmission is still possible. The aim is to avoid glare effects caused by direct view of the light sources so that work in industry, trade and, of course, offices can be carried out without disturbing stimuli caused by glare.
Conventional recessed luminaires covered by a shade all suffer from the visual problem that they can never conceal the type of light source behind them. Fluorescent lamps emit an elongated light, point light sources as dots. These two types of light can be recognized by the regular, translucent diffuser of the lights: They shimmer through and cast an uneven light pattern on the lampshade, with dark corners, dimly lit grooves and similar irregularities. A high-quality LED panel, on the other hand, uses LEDs that are evenly distributed within the construction and often cast a particularly uniform light pattern on the lampshade thanks to special technologies such as "edge lighting" from OSRAM. However, the shape of fluorescent lamps not only determined the light pattern of regular recessed luminaires - the installation depth also had to be based on the light sources and is therefore significantly greater with fluorescent lamps and other conventional lighting solutions than with compact LEDs. LEDs make it possible to design insert panels that are ultraslim, i.e. particularly flat. This is a space-saving lighting solution with optically perfect light distribution on the lampshade.
Replacing used light sources is a regular occurrence for many office operations with conventional lighting solutions. Particularly in the dark fall and winter months, the service life is consumed more quickly due to longer operating times. The high-quality LED panel, on the other hand, has an operating time of up to 50,000 hours. This makes maintenance largely superfluous. This eliminates the time and expense of replacing regularly failing light sources, which in turn has an impact on the profitability of the entire company.
In addition to the advantages already mentioned, LED recessed luminaires simply make an impression in conference rooms. Anyone who offers their business partners, new applicants or guests from politics and other sectors of the economy a brightly lit room for their first or follow-up visit, which is also characterized by the fact that its lighting can hardly be surpassed in terms of aesthetics, has already won. The modern, linear and trendy slim design, familiar from smartphones, tablet PCs and the latest Made in Germany quality LED luminaires from the Lights.iebrand, as well as the completely homogeneous illumination of the diffuser panel ensure a flawlessly elegant product that you can look up to without being dazzled. The fixed fusion of ceiling and luminaire is trend-setting and proves itself in the office like in hardly any other place.
