Surface-mounted louvre luminaires - lighting for offices and industry
The large group of surface-mounted luminaires also includes surface-mounted louvre luminaires. Surface-mounted louvre luminaires are mounted directly on the ceiling, but can also be suspended from the ceiling using special accessories and used as suspended louvre luminaires. In addition to surface-mounted louvre luminaires, the generic term louvre luminaires also includes recessed louvre luminaires, pendant louvre luminaires and free-standing louvre luminaires.
Locations for the surface-mounted louvre light
As large-area luminaires that are usually operated with tubular fluorescent lamps or compact fluorescent lamps, surface-mounted louvre luminaires are often used for lighting in offices, schools and other public buildings. Surface-mounted louvre luminaires are also used as basic lighting for store lighting, supplemented by other luminaires such as spotlights. However, the surface-mounted louvre luminaire is particularly popular for office lighting. The built-in louvres are used for light control and light distribution. They also protect against glare, which is particularly important for workplace lighting. Thanks to their homogeneous light, surface-mounted louvre luminaires provide eye-friendly lighting that makes working under these light sources particularly pleasant.
Different variants of surface-mounted louvre luminaires
The louvres, which are installed in surface-mounted louvre luminaires, are available in different versions: made of aluminum, painted white or as a so-called darklight louvre, which is used to illuminate computer workstations, as it provides glare-free light when working at a PC. Different light colors are available to the buyer depending on the location and intended use. Fluorescent lamps and compact fluorescent lamps, both of which can be used as light sources for surface-mounted louvre luminaires, are available in the light colors warm white, universal white or daylight white. As they are fitted with fluorescent lamps, surface-mounted louvre luminaires require a ballast. Both electronic (ECG) and conventional (CCG) or low-loss ballasts (LVG) are used. With its wide light distribution and high luminous efficacy, the surface-mounted louvre luminaire is the ideal ceiling lighting for offices and commercial premises.
