Rail systems

Designing your personal lighting ambience

No lighting concept is as tailor-made as the track system. It can be used to create different lighting zones in the living space or to illuminate difficult architectural situations such as angled rooms or long, narrow corridors. The track system generally only requires a single power connection for all these lighting scenarios, no matter how complex the individual lighting ultimately turns out to be.

Paulmann Urail Hildor

1-phase track system (230 V)

A single-circuit track system (230V) makes it possible to operate several luminaires along one track on just one circuit. All lights are controlled simultaneously. The advantage lies in the simple installation, flexibility in positioning the luminaires and the possibility of combining different light sources in one system. In addition, no external transformer is required for operation, as the lights are operated directly with mains voltage.

Low-voltage track system (48V)

The 48V track system offers an elegant, flat design that blends discreetly into any room design. The lower voltage makes it particularly safe and flexible. A low-voltage track system (48V) must be operated with an external transformer in order to convert the mains current (230V) into the required low voltage of 48V. With a wide selection of light sources, such as spotlights and pendant luminaires, the system offers a variety of lighting options. The simple installation saves time and money - only the power supply requires an electrician.

3-phase track system

A 3-phase track system makes it possible to operate luminaires on three separately switchable circuits. This means that different lighting groups can be controlled independently of each other. The advantage lies in the high degree of flexibility in lighting control and the ability to implement complex lighting scenarios in larger rooms. These systems are particularly suitable for commercial applications and professional installations, as they are often only found in professional use and must be installed by a specialist.

Why use a rail system?

As a rule, you only need one power connection for the entire rail system*.

The alignment and position of the lights can be changed at any time, e.g. when changing the furniture.

*However, it is always important to consider the maximum capacity of the respective rail system. More power connections may be required for professional use and for larger lighting systems.

How do I plan and install a rail system?

First things first: With the exception of the professional sector, for which there are certain manufacturer-independent compatibilities, the rail systems are self-contained. First of all, we always check whether the products we require are included in the range of the respective system.

Every rail system requires a power supply. The rail elements are then installed. If the system branches out or changes direction, connecting elements are used. Other elements include the switch, which enables remote control. The selected luminaires are mounted and individually aligned after the system has been installed.

Lampenwelt recommends professional installation by an electrician in order to comply with all safety regulations for electrical installations!
