Outdoor lights are a particularly good idea for three reasons: one, they make the outside of your home safer as you and your visitors will be able to see pathways, entrances and gateways more clearly. Two, outdoor lighting improves security as burglars and vandals are less inclined to come near your property when they can be seen clearly. Three, impressive lighting can light up your home and add to its appearance and value. These three reasons are equally valid whether we’re talking about private property, a rented house, a company building or shop premises.

You can use the filter above to see lights in any one or more of these styles: antique, country house, rustic, designer, hotel, restaurant, industrial, maritime, Mediterranean, modern, office, Scandinavian, shop and vintage
We have lots and lots of outdoor wall lights that have built-in motion detectors and dusk sensors - just use the filter option above to see them all. Our customers often tell us just how useful these lights are and how safe they make them feel as added protection against break-ins and vandalism. They also like the fact that the lights come on whenever they are needed, as the car pulls up to the house, for example, which is not only convenient but also very energy efficient.
Our tip: Use LED bulbs with motion sensor outdoor lights as they produce 100 % brightness immediately.
In our opinion and experience, LED is always the best way to go. The technology here has advanced a lot in recent years and LED lights use very little power and last for ages. These lights also light up immediately unlike other energy-saving bulbs.
If they are LED lights, they will probably have the bulbs built-in. To check, take a look at the specifications on the product page for that light. If they don’t specify a base type then the light bulb will be built-in with a life span of between 20,000 and 25,000 hours.
It’s true – outdoor wall lights have it pretty rough. In the winter, they are exposed to snow, ice and freezing cold – rather uninviting conditions. Constant weather changes, extreme heat or heavy rain can also really take its toll. That’s why outdoor wall lights are equipped with a code, known as Ingress Protection (IP) – e.g. IP44 or IP65 – to protect the light and its sensitive electronics.
Depending on its location, your outdoor wall light will need a different IP code. A more important factor, however, is the weather conditions that the light is exposed to, whether this be directly or indirectly. For this reason, there is no one-size-fits-all answer regarding which IP code your outdoor wall light requires. This must be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Of course, all of our outdoor lights are weather-resistant and have an ingress protection (IP) code which shows how much protection each light has against the elements. Look at the specifications on the product page for a two-digit IP number - the first one represents protection from solid objects on a scale of 0 – 6 while the second represents protection from liquids on a scale of 0 – 8. If this number is 4 or greater you can instal the light outside.
Level 1 - protected against dripping water
Level 2 - protected against dripping water when tilted at 15°
Level 3 - protected against spraying water
Level 4 - protected against splashing of water
Level 5 - protected against water jets
Level 6 - protected against powerful water jets
Level 7 - protected against immersion, up to 1 m depth
Level 8 - protected against immersion, 1 m or more depth

We recommend not choosing aluminium or steel materials if you live near the sea. The salt air can cause corrosion and rust so choose “corrosion-resistant” in the filter above to find lights that are made from Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), heavy-duty plastic or brass.
If you are in any way unsure of what you are doing, please get in a qualified electrician and they’ll instal your lights for you. On the other hand, they are quite easy to put up and we provide detailed step-by-step instructions with each light.
This depends on the light and your personal preference really. If it’s a motion sensor light there will be recommendations in the manual but, generally, you should mount your light at a height where it won’t dazzle you.
The best way to get parts such as replacement lampshades is to contact the manufacturer directly. If you prefer, you can contact one of our customer service agents here and we’ll put you in touch with the right people.
Do you automatically associate solar lighting with decorative features? Well, there’s so much more to it! Today, solar technology has come a long way from its decorative beginnings and is also used for practical lighting solutions, such as outdoor wall lights.
Solar technology has lots of impressive advantages:
No additional electricity costs
You don’t need to lay any power cables, meaning less effort and stress for you
Perfect for difficult-to-reach places or areas without electricity
Thanks to the twilight sensor, they automatically switch on when darkness falls
Can be installed without an expert
Usually stay illuminated for 8 - 10 hours in ideal conditions
Our tip: Please always keep in mind that solar lights needs to be fully charged before they are able to perform at their optimal capabilities. It’s best for the solar module to be exposed to direct sunlight – ideally, facing towards the south. Is this not possible? Consider using an outdoor wall light with a separate solar module, which is not built into the light. This will allow you to position the light where you need it, and the solar module can be placed just around the corner, where it can get more sun.
You can decide how you want your outdoor wall light to illuminate your garden or the entrance to your house. The possibilities are endless, especially where outdoor wall lights are concerned. One of the many options is a light that provides illumination both upwards and downwards.
With a light like this, you can kill two birds with one stone –it will not only provide safety (i.e., good lighting conditions), but it will also produce beautiful lighting accents, as the beam reaches across the wall.
Our tip: position several outdoor wall lights, evenly spaced, at the front of your house - your neighbours will stop and stare!
In addition to the high quality lighting effect and built-in motion detector, an outdoor wall light with a camera offer numerous other advantages:
easy installation and alignment
control via smartphone app
camera with a high-resolution wide-angle lens
live transmission of images with notifications
video and image memory
loudspeaker and built-in intercom
adjustable alarm signal
