Regardless of whether the Original 1227 Maxi hanging lamp is used as an individual light, e.g. for dining table lighting, or - suspended in a row - adorns a kitchen counter or a bar in a restaurant: the hanging lamp will make a great impression anywhere. This is not only due to its size, which is twice as large as the conventional Original 1227, but also due to the associations which its appearance arouses. Its lampshade is designed just like the Anglepoise® work light which was developed in the 1930s. The colour also underlines the retro charm of this attractive light source.

The Original 1227 Maxi hanging lamp was brought out in 2014. Its design originates from the English industrial designer George Carwardine (1887-1948), who developed vehicle suspension systems for the automotive industry. He made use of his knowledge about springs in the development of the legendary Anglepoise® work light in 1930, which became a model in the field of spring balancer lights and whose lampshade design can be found in the Original 1227 Maxi hanging lamp.
