Designer floor lamp Vigo Reading Floor by Artemide - Design by David Chipperfield
The design of the Vigo floor lamp goes back to an old-style luminaire, which has been reinterpreted here and designed with a shade in a two-part cone shape. The inner cone is made of black metal, while the outer one is made of blown, transparent borosilicate glass with a matt lower finish. The two cones create an aesthetic contrast and serve to diffuse the light. The inner shade can be moved in height by means of a locking system.
The floor lamp Vigo Reading Floor by Artemide was designed by David Chipperfield. The London-born designer studied architecture and founded his own office in 1985. He received numerous awards for his designs and his life's work, including the Federal Cross of Merit, the RIBA Gold Medal for Architecture and several more.
