The main feature of the Vitruvio floor lamp is its transparent lampshade made of mouth-blown glass. Its appearance is reminiscent of a beehive or a cocoon. On the upper half of the shade, horizontal stripes were let in through which the illuminant inside is perceived somewhat blurred. They also ensure that the light is emitted without glare and illuminates its surroundings evenly.

To assemble the floor lamp, first insert the LED bulb (see accessories), which is surrounded by three movable metal rods. When the glass shade is placed on the frame, a mechanism is set in motion that aligns the rods and anchors them optimally in the shade. The rods balance the weight of the globe and provide a secure hold. The lamp is conveniently operated using the foot switch provided. This allows the on and off as well as the stepless dimming of the floor lamp. Decorative LED bulbs are suitable for the lighting.

The floor lamp combines traditional values and time-honoured manufacturing processes, such as the art of glass blowing, with modern visions and technologies. Thus, it represents the basic principles of Atelier oï and the lighting manufacturer Artemide.
