Dimmable LED designer floor lamp Kabuki from Kartell Its silhouette makes you think of opulent lighting elements from baroque times. The LED floor lamp combines classic, playful design with modern technology and modern materials. While the structure of the lampshade and frame is reminiscent of fine lace, the material is actually not textile but thermoplastic technopolymer, which has been injection moulded. The many small openings in the lampshade create an appealing light pattern when the light is switched on. Architect and designer Ferruccio Laviani developed the Kabuki light series for the design company Kartell, based in Noviglio, near Milan. Plastic in all its forms and colours is the basic material from which the designer pieces that have made Kartell famous over the last few decades are made. Some of Kartell's furniture and lights are now design classics and can be found in various modern museums.
