Frosted glass table lamp Braille with a relief pattern

The designer Matteo Ugolini has designed the Braille series of lights as a symbol of his friendship with the founder of Karman Davide Diamantini. Karman is an Italian designer light manufacturer which not only has its headquarters in Italy and designs and plans its products there, but which also produces its lights locally. In addition, the production is characterised by work by hand, which is almost a matter of course for such high-quality designer pieces made of glass, such as the table lamp Braille.

The table lamp Braille has a spherical glass body which was handblown. There is a pattern running round the frosted surface which is reminiscent of a tribal pattern. The name of the light, Braille, could also suggest that the relief hints at Braille writing, as the letters of this script are just as raised and identifiable by touch as the pattern of the light.
