GUBI Pedrera H2O table lamp

Pedrera H2O table lamp: new edition of the classic from 1955 The simple beauty of the Pedrera H2O table lamp has lost none of its charm in all the years since it was created. Its decorative, cylindrical metal shade stands on filigree legs. Small holes are punched into the cylinder all around, allowing the light to escape in all directions. The original design was created by Barba Corsini, who was responsible for the remodelling of the Casa Milà in Barcelona. He was commissioned to transform the attic into modern flats in the building, which was constructed between 1906 and 1912 by Antoni Gaudí and is also known by locals as the quarry (La Pedrera) due to its enormous dimensions and irregular façade. The lighting series, which includes table lamps, floor lamps, pendant lights and a glass table, was created as part of the redesign of the interior. When Casa Milà was being renovated in 1991, gallery owner Joaquim Ruiz Millet discovered one of the lights. In co-operation with Barba Corsini, the original designs were revised. The Danish light and furniture manufacturer Gubi took over the production of the new edition.
