Pendant lamp Nelson Cigar Bubble in elongated shape with fine lines Already designed in 1942 by the pioneering American designer George Nelson and first produced in 1952, the Bubble Lamp signaled a revolution in the modernist lighting industry. Nelson drew inspiration for the design of this series of lamps from silk-covered Swedish pendants. Using great ingenuity in the work process, he developed the Bubble pendant lamp shades, which consist of a lightweight, rounded frame made of steel with a self-crosslinking plastic spray developed by the U.S. military applied to it. Through the shades, the light from the bulb shines softly and evenly in all around the room. The beautiful design in white with the fine, visible lines of the steel frame can be integrated into any interior style and looks decorative everywhere, whether in a private environment or in commercial areas. George Nelson (1907 - 1986) was born in Connecticut and was one of the most influential figures in the crucial early days of modern design. Trained as an architect and visual artist at Yale, he believed that a designer's job was to make the world a better place. He based his works on the perfection of nature's creations, which can be seen, among other things, in the mostly organic shapes of his creations.
