Pleated plastic shade: Gè LED pendant luminaire by Kartell

The shape of the lampshade of the pendant lamp Gè is very classic. Slightly conical, it tapers towards the top. What makes it so modern and innovative, however, is that it looks like a pleated shade, but it is not made of textile, but entirely of plastic. Due to the transparency and the pleat-like structure, a radiant light shine results, which provides for general lighting and a pleasant atmosphere in the room.

Among the most famous designer pieces of the company Kartell, which is based in Milan, are for example a children's chair called K 1340 and the lemon squeezer KS 1481. In the field of lighting, it is the model 4006 by Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni from 1959 and the series Tic Tac, which serve as a flagship and have a high recognition value. Many of the designer pieces of the Milanese company have not only received various awards, but can already be admired in museums despite their relatively young age and count among the modern classics.
