With touch dimmer: Planet LED table lamp by Tokujin Yoshioka

The most striking thing about the Planet designer table lamp from Kartell is its sparkling and glittering light, which enchants the surroundings with a beautiful play of light. It is hard to believe that this effect is not created by crystals, but by a lampshade made of plastic. To create a sparkling light effect without crystals was the challenge Tokujin Yoshioka wanted to face when designing this lamp. The designer built many prototypes together with Kartell, the company known for its designer pieces made of plastic, until the resin from which the shade is made was modelled in such a way that it produced the desired crystal effect.

Among the most famous designer pieces by Kartell are the children's chair K 1340 and the lemon squeezer KS 1481. In the field of lighting, the model 4006 by Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni from 1959 and the series Tic Tac, which was created in 1970, are responsible for the high reputation of the company. Many of the designer pieces by Kartell have not only won various awards, but can also be admired in museums despite their relatively young age.
