Classic designer pendant lamp 47 by Le Klint - shade folded by hand The designer pendant lamp Le Klint 47 is a handmade unique specimen. Each lamp shade is folded by hand in Odense on the island of Funen in Denmark in a special cross folding of plastic foil. The origins of the brand Le Klint lie at the beginning of the 20th century. The architect P.V. Jensen Klint made a pleated shade for a petroleum lamp here, which he designed himself and which met with a great response. From then on, the Le Klint family tinkered with this lampshade and its pleating, and initially gave it away to relatives and friends. In 1943, the family member Tage Klint turned the domestic handicraft and folding work into a business and founded the lighting company Le Klint in Copenhagen, which still exists today. The model of the designer pendant lamp 47 is a simplified version of the "fruit lantern" created by Esben Klint, which his father Kaare Klint designed and manufactured in the founding period of the company. Through the downward opening, this pendant lamp can be used to directly illuminate a table surface, for example, while the general light shines softened in all directions through the classic cross-folding of the shade.
