Swirl 2 designer pendant lamp in a Scandinavian design

The lampshade of this Danish pendant light is shaped as a spiral or a swirl, as the name Swirl suggests. Simple Scandinavian design is as trendy today as it clearly was many decades ago. At the start of the 20th century, a well-known Danish family of architects and designers began to produce special pleated lampshades for lights by hand. The models from the early days of the company, which the family then founded in 1943, are still in the Danish manufacturer’s product range and are very popular.

The Swirl pendant lamp is a newer model, which was developed by the designer Øivind Slaatto in recent years. The Swirl series was inspired by the shape of a snail's shell, and was created in line with his motto that light, shape and function should go hand in hand in a light. The plastic lampshade allows the light to escape through the gaps, so that it not only provides general lighting but also creates interesting lighting effects.
