AJ Royal LED pendant luminaire - timeless dome shade with diffuser and indirect additional light

Simple, clear shapes and colours, functionality always in view - the Scandinavian genes of the AJ Royal pendant luminaire are unmistakable. Above the private living and dining room table as well as in the café or hotel, AJ Royal turns out to be an equally effective and stylish light source.

The dome-shaped shade is made of aluminium and has a single-colour wet lacquer finish on the outside. The lower opening is closed by a diffuser made of matt acrylic, so that the light of the LEDs is evenly diffused. The area below is thus provided with direct lighting that has a pleasantly low glare effect (UGR < 19). The upper section of the screen is cut out. Here, vertically positioned steel rings are inserted, which allow the light to escape upwards, so that a discreet, indirect basic illumination is achieved.

The name of the pendant lamp bears the initials of Arne Jacobsen, who as a designer and architect was responsible for the overall concept of the SAS Royal (Radisson) Hotel in Copenhagen and for whose furnishings he also designed the AJ Royal series in 1960. With the AJ Royal LED pendant lamp, the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen offers a modern interpretation of the AJ pendant lamp, which can still be admired today in the original copper and stainless steel versions operated with incandescent lamps in the Copenhagen hotel.
