Doo-Wop – new edition of the popular Navy pendant light in polished stainless steel

The precursor to the Doo-Wop hanging light was created back in the 1950s by the Danish lighting company Louis Poulsen in conjunction with the building association of the Danish Navy and was used in its offices and canteens. Back then, this practical and equally timeless light was simply called Navy pendant light. In 2012, a new edition of this classic was released under the name Doo-Wop; and in 2017, the series was expanded to include further models with new colours and materials.

The inner lampshade – a simple, white, aluminium cone – bundles the light downwards; whilst the polished stainless steel outer reflector emits soft light upwards and downwards to create a very cosy ambience. The lampshades on Doo-Wop are still created and processed by hands, just as they used to be. They continue to be fitted with a finely rolled edge.

Note: the stainless steel surface is untreated. As a result, the lampshade will acquire a patina over time and its appearance will change as a result.
