NJP LED desk lamp – classic design meets modern functionality

The designer Oki Sato and his Japanese design studio nendo have designed an unrivalled desk lamp. NJP represents a new interpretation of the classic architect’s lamp. It features two joints to provide flexible adjustment of the lamp for perfect positioning. The exposed springs in the arm joints have a slightly industrial appearance. The opening at the back of the lampshade that reaches to the arm allows the head to be seamlessly, and provides perfect ventilation for the integrated LED unit.

NJP emits glare-free horizontal lighting. The rear part of the ergonomically designed head reflects the light to illuminate the upper section of the arm. The inside surface of the lampshade is painted white for an optimal light reflection.

In addition, a switch on the head can be used to set two levels of light output and a four- or eight-hour timer is integrated. This is a great light for a work station that ticks every box in terms of design and functionality.

With this product from the nendo design studio, the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen – which stands for the motto “Form follows function” – is forging a new path with a minimalist design featuring little symbols and details that spark associations.
