Switch controller Cephei, ZigBee 3.0: So that conventional luminaires can also be integrated into the Smart Home system

Thanks to the switch controller Cephei, conventional luminaires and lamps can also be integrated into a Smart Home system. Thus, Cephei is installed between a 230V power connection and the desired luminaire or the corresponding ballast. A strain relief to protect the cables and an antenna to improve the radio signal are already integrated.

Once integrated, luminaires and lamps without smart functions can thus also be controlled conveniently and wirelessly via app, voice assistant (Amazon Alexa) or smart home accessories.

Technical data / compatibility:

- based on the ZigBee 3.0 radio protocol

- compatible with ZigBee-based smart home systems such as Philips Hue or IKEA Tradfri

- compatible with Paulmann smart home remote control and wall switch (see accessories)

- connected luminaires can still be switched by regular light switch

- max. 1.000 watt inductive load (conventional transformers)

- max. 75 watt capacitive load (electronic ballasts)

- average life: 30,000 hours

A separate ZigBee-based bridge (gateway) or handheld transmitter (remote control, wall switch, etc.) is required for use (see accessories).
