Chrome-plated piano light in De Stijl design Functionality, abstract shapes, purist design: this piano light was originally created in 1928 by the Dutch De Stijl group, which has parallels to the German Bauhaus. The downward-facing body is held in balance by a ball on the other side of the frame. The structure rests on a base with a diameter of twelve centimetres. The piano light is made of chrome-plated metal. In keeping with modern technology, both LED and compact fluorescent bulbs can be used for this light. The De Stijl style was founded by the group of the same name in Holland&Holland in 1917. The manufacturer, Tecnolumen from Germany, has affixed a consecutive number and a stamp with Tecnolumen lettering to the light as a seal of quality, naturally in an inconspicuous place so as not to detract from its appearance. Tecnolumen, the light manufacturer from Germany, is committed to modernity and the reproduction of design classics. Wilhelm Wagenfeld's table lamp was the first product to be launched by Tecnolumen as a re-edition in 1979. The famous Bauhaus work was followed by others from the same era, including Marianne Brandt's teapot and, above all, lights. In addition to De Stijl and Bauhaus, Tecnolumen's programme also includes works created in the Art Decó style.
