Jaime Hayons pendant lamp Formakami JH5 handmade rice paper
Rice paper lamps are mainly known in the Asian region and originate from a long tradition there. The designer, artist and interior designer Jaime Hayon has studios in Italy and Spain as well as one in Japan and has taken the rice paper lamps there as a model for his Formakami lamp series.
The pendant luminaire Formakami JH5 has a spacious shade made of ivory-coloured, handmade rice paper, under which two E27 sockets are concealed. Optical accents are provided by two rings made of black-dyed oak wood, which divide the shade into two areas.
Hayon designed Formakami for the Danish designer lamp manufacturer &Tradition. The company produces lamps from different decades - some were created in the 1920s and are now among the great classics, others were designed in the 21st century, but are no less classic and timeless than the models from almost 100 years ago.
