Utzon JU1 pendant light - design classic from 1947, brass-plated finish This small pendant light, named after its creator Jørn Utzon, does not reveal at first glance how much tradition and history it contains. The lampshade, which combines several lacquered steel elements, was designed by Utzon back in 1947. He was inspired by the ship drawings of his father, a yacht designer. Throughout his life, Utzon remained fascinated by ships and light. In the 1950s, Utzon became famous for his design of the Sydney Opera House. In 2003, he received the Pritzker Prize for his life's work. &Tradition, the manufacturer of the Utzon pendant light, is a Danish company that primarily produces and sells design classics, but also contemporary, timeless products.
