Verner Panton's table lamp Fun 2TM - made of real mother-of-pearl plates

While the Danish architect and designer Verner Panton always liked to use artificial materials in his designs, he made an exception for one of his most famous lamp series, the Fun series, and designed it with real seashells - mother-of-pearl. In the Fun 2TM table lamp, chains of different lengths made of round mother-of-pearl plates hang down from the two metal rings that form the basic frame of the lamp. Like a curtain, they shield the lamp so that it does not dazzle.

Fun 2TM not only produces light and is a real gem on the bedside table or a side table, but also sets acoustic accents. When the mother-of-pearl necklaces are set in motion by a gentle breeze, a lovely play of sounds is heard.

Verner Panton (1926-1998) is considered one of Denmark's most important architects and designers. He achieved worldwide fame above all with his extraordinary pieces of furniture, such as the Panton Chair, the first cantilever chair made entirely of plastic. Verner Panton's lamps are all engraved with his name and come with a certificate of authenticity.
