Verner Panton's Fun 2TM table lamp - made of real mother-of-pearl platelets While the Danish architect and designer Verner Panton generally liked to use artificial materials in his designs, he made an exception for one of his most famous lamp series, the Fun series, and designed it with real shells - mother-of-pearl. Chains of round mother-of-pearl plates of varying lengths hang from the two metal rings that form the base of the Fun 2TM table lamp. Like a curtain, they shield the bulb so that it does not dazzle.
